Peach Jam Performance Doesn't Go Unnoticed
Dallas (TX) Lincoln PG Bryan Hopkins made an impression on college recruiters last week at the Nike Peach Jam and now he's hearing from a lot of schools.
"A lot of schools that weren't calling before are definitely calling me now," Hopkins said. "I'm just listening now." Hopkins seems intent on going through the recruiting process and stressed that really doesn't have a good list of schools right now.
Maryland, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Texas, Tennessee, Minnesota and SMU are pitching him. Others will likely try and get involved before it's all said and done. Arizona would have offered him a scholarship if Jason Gardner had not opted to return to Tucson.
"I'm going to narrow it down later and take five visits," Hopkins said. "Coming in and being able to play, the relationship with the coach and going to a good team that is trying to build a program is important."
Hopkins is still riding high after the exciting Peach Jam finish when Ross DeRogatis canned a 3-pointer to give Team Texas the win over BABC. "When we were down and started coming back, the crowd just got on our side and it was like we were playing in front of our home crowd."
