Peak set to compete for title

L.J. Peak and his teammates will compete for a state title this week. the 2014 caught up with for an update on his situation.

L.J. Peak, a 2014 wing prospect, has a big week ahead.

The 6-foot-4 wing helped Gaffney (S.C.) Senior win the Upper State championship this past Friday over Dorman, setting up a match up against Lexington (S.C.) High in the state final.

"It's going good," Peak, who will compete for a state championship on Friday at Colonial Life Center in Columbia, said. "We made it to the state [final]."

Peak, a talented scorer that dropped 40 points in a game in the Beach Ball Classic earlier in the year, described his game as a versatile wing.

"I can do it all, but I'm mostly a slasher," the 2014 top 25 prospect told

"I bring intensity and excitement," he responded when asked to describe his game.

On the recruiting front, Peak said he's getting strong interest from South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Georgetown and Marquette.

Peak is ranked No. 21 overall in the 2014 recruiting class.
