Mount Zion Guard Decides

New Orleans native Albert Webber reached a college decision this weekend. The Mount Zion standout will play collegiately in the SEC.

Albert Webber liked the fact that Alabama was relatively close for his family in relation to his New Orleans home. Over the weekend, he became the Crimson Tide's second recruit in the Class of 2004.

"We went on a visit and my mom liked the program and the education," Webber said. "It's close to home and my family can come to the games."

Webber will help the Tide in a big way offensively. He's a young man with a terrific stroke from behind the arc and is in the process of improving his game off the dribble. The bottom line is that he can really score the basketball. He's made improvements in his game since we saw him last summer in Las Vegas.

Alabama had him on campus for an unofficial visit at the end of May. Here we are in mid-June and he's committed. He selected the Tide over Texas and Connecticut.

"They run a three guard lineup and it fits my style. They run a lot and I'll be able to shoot."

"I'm real ready to play. If I can just get ready mentally I'll be alright."
