Taylor talks Utah offer

2012 point guard Brandon Taylor recently picked up his first offer, which came from the Pac-12. He talks to Scout.com about the offer.

This afternoon, Los Angeles Pacific Hills will try to win a Division 4A CIF title by defeating Cantwell-Sacred Heart.

They've made this far in large part due to the play of 5-foot-9, 150-pound senior point guard Brandon Taylor.

Taylor's successful season was recently rewarded with a scholarship offer from Utah.

"I was really proud and happy that they offered," Taylor said.

Other schools recruiting Taylor are Cal Poly, Loyola Marymount and Cal State Northridge. He says that he remains open at this point.

"I like Utah a lot but I don't really have a leader right now out of respect to the other schools recruiting me," Taylor said.

For now, the 2012 prospect is focused on winning a CIF title and not recruiting.

"I'm concentrating on winning this championship," he said. "After the basketball season is over, then I'll decide where I want to go."

Taylor did say he'll take visits after the season and described what he's looking for in a school.

"I'm looking for a good situation, a good coaching staff and a good education base," he said. "I'm always open to more scholarship offers but I'm just concentrated on my basketball season right now."
