Humphries To Play For Gophers

Kris Humphries is staying home. Next season he'll try and fill Rick Rickert's shoes and like Rickert two years ago, Humphries picked the Gophers the second time around.

Dan Monson must be the most patient man in America. Two years ago he waited for Rick Rickert and on Monday, did the same with Kris Humphries.

Humphries, the one-time Duke signee, will sign a scholarship offer with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Coach Monson will talk about the signing later in the afternoon on Monday.

The signing ends a multi-week saga that saw Humphries look into possibilities at Iowa State and Indiana once he was released from his letter of intent at Duke. Humphries was a McDonald's All-American this past season. He's the two-time Metro Player of the Year in Minneapolis.

Humphries, ranked No. 18 in our final rankings, is the third player to commit to Minnesota in the Class of 2003.
