"He's going to Ole Miss," said Robert Tillman, the head coach of Scott's AAU team. "He's going to walk-on and then they'll put him on scholarship. He had the opportunity to sign early but they signed somebody. He wanted to go there."
Scott was offered by the Rebels prior to last fall. Instead of taking the scholarship, he focused on his grades and checked out some other options. During that time, the Rebels were able to gather other commitments and went in another direction.
"He's been knowing coach for a while. He was disappointed that he didn't sign in the early period. When he got his grades, he was frustrated. After he got his grades, he called and said he was going to Ole Miss. They didn't have a spot for him then."
And they still don't, unless they created a scenario where he walked on his first year and then was scholarshiped his final three and that's exactly what will happen.
