McDonald's: Anthony Bennett Spotlight

CHICAGO -- Anthony Bennett, a five-star prospect, will begin taking college visits in a few weeks. Soon after he'll make a college choice. He talked to at the McDonald's All-American media day festivities.

Anthony Bennett is one of five uncommitted prospects participating in the McDonald's All-American festivities.

During Media Day festivities at the United Center, Bennett, who is considering Florida, Kentucky, UNLV, Oregon and Washington, broke down his current recruiting situation.

"After the Jordan Brand I'm going to start taking my visits and after all my visits are taken then I'll make my choice," Bennett told

As far as a final decision, Bennett still isn't close.

"It'll probably be end of April or early May," the Henderson (Nev.) Findlay coach admitted.

"I wouldn't say standing out," he added. "All the schools are the same."

Spending time around the other players participating in the game, Bennett has had a few of the prospects try to recruit him to certain schools. The most intriguing conversation was with Shabazz Muhammad.

"It's not really the signed players, but Shabazz and I have been talking," Bennett said. "He told me something. I can't say what it is, but it might happen. I'm just going to leave it at that."

While Bennett hasn't set any dates, he did say that he wants to jump into them as soon as he finishes up in Charlotte at the Jordan All-American game.

"Hopefully it'll be right after that week," he said. "That's the plan as of right now."

What does Bennett like about the five remaining schools?

"I'd probably say for all five the coaching staffs and the players have been great to me," he said. "The coaching staff has also been great to my mom, talking to her, showing her around and making her feel comfortable."

Bennett is currently regarded as the No. 7 prospects in the 2012 class.
