2013 Intro: Scott Woods

Scott Woods, one of the top big men in the west for 2013, gives us an update on his recruitment...

Scott Woods, 6-8 JR C Simi Valley (Calif.) Royal, is a promising prospect with a nice upside. A young-looking junior, Woods may still be growing. He's got excellent feet, good hands and a very nice feel for the game.

I spoke with Wood recently and asked about the schools that have been in touch with him.

"Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Penn, Harvard, Stanford, Oregon State and Santa Clara," said Woods.

I asked Woods about the factors he will consider when choosing a school.

"It's mainly about the academics," said Woods. "The distance isn't a factor. I'm trying to decide whether I want to go to a BCS school or the Ivy League."

Woods took a trip back east last fall and visited several schools.

"I went to Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Princeton," said Woods.

When asked if he has a time frame in mind for choosing a school, Woods replied, "probably the end of summer prior to my senior year."

Woods said he has a GPA of 4.2
