Plenty Of Interest For Lee

Marcus Lee, one of the top prospects in the west for 2013, has numerous high major programs recruiting him...

Marcus Lee, 6-7 JR PF Antioch (Calif.) Deer Valley, is a very athletic and promising prospect. While he's not especially skilled at this time, Lee's body and athleticism project to a high level.

I spoke with Lee recently and asked about the schools that have been in touch with him.

"I'm hearing from most of the Pac-12 and Big-12," said Lee.

When asked about programs that have been recruiting him the hardest, Lee replied "VCU calls all the time, Texas A&M is in contact a lot, and St. Mary's is so close, so I'm in touch with them a lot."

Lee has been to Pepperdine, St. Mary's and Cal so far. I asked if he has any other schools in mind for visits.

"I want to visit Texas A&M and Texas," said Lee.

Lee said he's in no hurry to reach a decision.

"I'm going to take as much time as possible to decide," said Lee.

Lee talked a little about the issues he will consider when picking a school.

"I want to go sompelace where I'm going to have help, good coaching and someplace where I feel at home," said Lee. "Early playing time isn't a big deal. If someone is better than me, I'll be glad to watch them and learn. And I don't want to go anywhere that's cold."

Lee said he has a 3.3 GPA.
