Benson Drawing Plenty Of Interest

Casey Benson, a talented 2014 prospect out of Arizona, has multiple mid to high major programs recruiting him...

Casey Benson, 6-2 JR PG Tempe (Ariz.) Corona Del Sol, is a true point with a very good feel and a solid stroke with three-point range. He's a fairly good athlete, with excellent vision and passing ability. He projects as one of the better point guards in the West Coast class of 2014.

I spoke with Benson recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"Arizona State, St. Mary's, Gonzaga, Boise State, Colorado, Cal, Utah State, UC Santa Barbara and Boston College," said Benson. "ASU, St. Mary's and Boise State have offered."

I asked Benson if he has a leader at this time.

"No, I don't have a leader," said Benson. "I grew up watching ASU since I was young, but I'm open."

Benson talked a little about the factors he will consider when picking a school.

"Just how I fit in, the style of play and my relationship with the coaching staff," said Benson. "I'm open to going anywhere, but I haven't really thought about it a lot yet."

Benson has taken unofficial visits to ASU and Boise State.

When asked if he has a time frame in mind for making his decision, Benson said, "I'll decide when I really know, when it feels right."

Benson said he has a 3.9 GPA.
