After deliberating over his decision and weighing his options, Nolan, a 6-foot-10 post prospect out of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Riverside pledged to Jim Calhoun and his staff.
"I'm just so excited," Nolan told Scout.com shortly after making his college decision.
"I'm at a lost of words," Nolan added. "I'm just so happy to commit to UConn and be a part of their family."
In early May, Nolan's interest began to pick back up. Schools like Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Minnesota all reached out to Nolan.
"UConn has a great situation for me with a couple of their guys leaving early," Nolan said. "Playing time should be available with a couple of guys leaving early."
During six games at Riverside this past season, Nolan averaged 12.3 points a game.
Nolan finished his 2012 ranked No. 30 at the power forward position in the 2012 recruiting class.
