Frink picks Florida International

Jerome Frink made his college choice Wednesday evening. He's taking his game to the Sun Belt Conference.

Richard Pitino hasn't wasted much time hitting the recruiting trail.

Last week Pitino and his staff at FIU picked up 6-foot-3 guard Diamante Lewis, who averaged 28.4 points a game at Ocala (Fla.) Lake Weir. Then on Wednesday, FIU scored a commitment from Jerome Frink.

Frink, a standout at Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony's, also considered St. Bonaventure, Hofstra, Iona and others.

"I think it's the best fit for me and I got along with the staff and the players and I can make an impact," Frink told when asked about his decision.

A 6-foot-6, 200-pound power forward, Frink, alongside Kyle Anderson, helped led St. Anthony's to two straight New Jersey Tournament of Champions titles.

Frink was a First Team All-State selection, while averaging 10 points and 5.8 rebounds a game.
