2005 PF Davon Jefferson
Davon Jefferson, 6-7 JR PF Lynwood (Calif.) High, isn't well known nationally, but that figures to change after this summer. A great athlete, Jefferson oozes upside. Long, and quick off the floor, Jefferson is a very good shot blocker. He's got a decent shot out to about fifteen feet. His offensive skills still need polishing, but he figures to be a high major prospect. We spoke with Davon recently and asked about schools that have shown interest in him. "I've been getting mail from Texas Tech, Cornell, Navy, American and a few others," said Jefferson. Jefferson told us that UCLA and USC were the two schools he admired when he was younger. We asked if there are any other schools he'd like to hear from and Jefferson replied, "Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma and UNLV." Playing time won't be a major factor in his decision, according to Jefferson. He also said that he's fine with leaving home. At this point, Jefferson doesn't plan on making an early decision. "I'll probably wait until the fall of my senior year," said Jefferson. Jefferson said that he'll probably play for SCA or ABC this summer. He will need to do some work in the classroom, as he told us that he has a 2.2 GPA.
