Jackson Picking Up Offers

Marcus Jackson, a sharp-shooting senior guard from Los Angeles, has a variety of schools recruiting him...

Marcus Jackson, 6-2 SR SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Pacific Hills, is one of the better shooters in Southern California and he has a number of schools expressing interest in him.

"I've been hearing a lot lately from Princeton and Columbia," said Jackson. "Air Force, Portland and Rice have offered. I've also been talking with Arizona State, Stanford, Utah and Santa Clara."

I asked Jackson what he's looking for in a school.

"The academic environment, as well as the athletic environment," said Jackson. "I'm not too concerned about the location, but I would like to be in a big city since that's what I'm used to having grown up here."

Jackson isn't sure about the timing of his decision.

"I haven't really thought about it too much," said Jackson. "I want to see how the summer goes, then sit down with my family and make a decision."

Jackson has been to Pepperdine and San Diego on unofficial visits and he will see a few more schools in the near future.

"I'm going to Stanford and to Santa Clara for their Elite Camps," said Jackson. "And while I'm up there I think I will try to see USF."

Jackson said he has a 3.49 GPA.
