Poole picks Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech landed their point guard on Saturday when Solomon Poole picked the school.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets scored a huge commitment on Saturday with the decision of Solomon Poole to commit to the school. The No. 39 ranked prospect in the nation will now join his brother in Atlanta, and they hope to bring the Yellow Jackets back to prominence.

"I just committed to Georgia Tech," said Poole. "I wanted to commit to Georgia Tech because of Brian Gregory. He told me everything I needed to hear instead of the other coaches which told me what I wanted to hear."

He continued, "Also they have a great tradition of point guards who have excelled in college and gone to the league. Also they will let me come in as a freshman and they will put the ball in my hands."

At Georgia Tech, Gregory has made it a point to play at a fast pace on the offensive end, and Poole feels that he fits in very well with that style of play.

"I think I fit well in their offense," said Poole. "Basically Brian Gregory has a fast paced moving offense and they like to get up and down the floor which is my style of play."

Along with Coach Gregory and the way the Yellow Jackets play, one of the major drawing points to Georgia Tech was his brother Stacey Poole. The elder Poole transferred to Georgia Tech from Kentucky, and now the two are looking forward to being teammates.

"Oh man that is going to be extremely fun," said Poole. "We have always wanted to be teammates. We were teammates once when I was a freshman in high school, but that is about it."

Poole is the first pledge for the Yellow Jackets in the 2013 class, and one that was absolutely huge. Georgia Tech needed a point guard in the worst way, and now they have one of the best that the country has to offer.
