Bonnies, Hens Add Recruits

The last few weeks, we've been concentrating on rising seniors. Well, a few 2003 guys slipped through the cracks on us and will play for the Bonnies and Blue Hens.

Anthony Solomon's first recruit at St. Bonaventure is from the South. Solomon moved quickly to add Andy Smith, a standout from Kerr Vance Academy in Henderson, N.C.

Last year, Smith averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds. He was a first-team all-stater in the North Carolina private school ranks. Smith is originally from England.

The Delaware Blue Hens and David Henderson went to the Midwest to land a senior. Sam McMahon, a guard from Jefferson City (MO) High, committed to the Blue Hens.

"They just called and I went on a visit and I fell in love with the campus and I really liked it," McMahon said. "They offered me for next year and I just took it."

Basically, McMahon is a qualifier who will likely attend prep school next season. He averaged 19 points a game last year and played AAU ball with St. Louis Gateway.

Bridgeton Academy has been mentioned as a potential prep school for McMahon.
