McCullough looking to cut list soon

Chris McCullough, who scored 8.3 points and grabbed 4.6 rebounds a game at NBPA Camp, discussed his recruitment and where things stood following one of the game sessions in Charlottesville (Va.) last week.

Although Chris McCullough, a five-star prospect in the 2014 class, made it clear at the NBPA Camp last week that he isn't rushing his college recruitment, he is getting close to narrowing his list of schools.

Currently, McCullough, who stands 6-foot-9, is hearing from a host of schools that include Florida, Kansas, Syracuse, Connecticut, Miami, Temple, Arizona, St. John's, Memphis, Rutgers and West Virginia.

"It's going good," McCullough said of the recruiting process. "I'm taking it slow."

With the evaluation period just around the corner, McCullough is planning to take that in and then try to narrow things down.

"I'm going to drop it down to a top six next month," he told Scout.com.

How will McCullough get his list down to a half dozen? McCullough said he's looking at three specific things.

"Coaches, relationships and their style of play," McCullough said.

McCullough hasn't taken any recent visits and said that it's too early to start naming a favorite.

"Not at this point," he responded when asked about a favorite.

The standout at Salisbury (Conn.) School is regarded as the No. 3 power forward and the No. 10 overall player in the 2014 class.
