Thomas looking at fall decision

Michael Thomas, a talented senior forward out of Southern California, has several West Coast programs expressing interest in him...

Michael Thomas, 6-5 SR PF Woodland Hills (Calif.) El Camino Real, is a long and athletic prospect with a nice upside. While he's a bit undersized, Thomas has a very nice stroke out to 17-19 feet and a good feel for the game.

I spoke with Thomas recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"Washington State, Boise State, Arizona State, Nevada and UC Santa Barbara have been the main ones," said Thomas. "Boise State has offered."

I asked Thomas what he is looking for in a school.

"Support from the college and I'm in looking to major in business or communications," said Thomas. "I want to go someplace where I can take basketball to another level."

Thomas said he would probably prefer to play somewhere in the west.

Thomas has a time frame in mind for making his decision.

"I want to decide in September or October," said Thomas.

Thomas has taken two unofficial visits so far to Pepperdine and Washington State.

Thomas said he has a 3.6 GPA.
