Gonzaga Lands Sleeper Post

You don't find many 7-0 centers flying under the radar, but Gonzaga has found one in senior center Ryan Edwards out of Montana...

Ryan Edwards, 7-0 SR C Kalispell (Mont.) Glacier, has committed to Gonzaga. While we haven't seen Edwards yet, sources tell us that Edwards may be the best center in an admittedly down 2013 West Coast class of big men. Edwards hasn't been seen by many people as he doesn't play club basketball. He will only be playing for his high school team this summer.

We spoke with Edwards recently and asked him about his decision.

"Gonzaga had everything I was looking for in terms of academics and the basketball program is great," said Edwards. "I really like the coaches and I just had a good feeling about it."

Edwards said he took a couple unofficial visits to Gonzaga prior to reaching a decision.

When asked which other schools he seriously considered before picking Gonzaga, Edwards said, "Washington State and Montana."
