LeBron: Mickey discusses recent visits

LAS VEGAS -- Jordan Mickey sat down with Scout.com at LeBron James Skills Academy to discuss his recent recruiting trips and his overall recruitment.

In June when things settled down, Jordan Mickey, a talented forward out of Arlington (Tex.) Grace Prep, went on a visit spree.

"All the visits are going great right now," Mickey told Scout.com. "I took visits to Louisville, Ohio State, Kentucky, West Virginia, LSU and SMU. Hopefully I'll be able to take more after the live period."

Mickey, who ranks No. 33 overall in the 2013 recruiting class, said he's trying to take in each of the schools involved and find out as much background information as he can.

"Right now I'm pretty much just doing my homework and seeing all the coaches and everything," Mickey said. "I'm not sure when I'll have my decision down, but it'll be in the near future."

At this point, Mickey indicated that were a handful of schools recruiting him aggressively.

"The ones that are coming after me the hardest would be Louisville, West Virginia, Ohio State, SMU, Texas, OSU, Texas A&M and Kansas," he stated.

While on Louisville's campus, Mickey was able to spend time with Rick Pitino and also took in a workout.

"It was a great trip," Mickey said. "I loved it out there. Just the way coach Pitino runs his program and how he wants perfection out of everybody and I liked the way he runs his individuals workouts."

Following the trip to Louisville, Mickey slid over to Kentucky to see what they had to offer.

"It was great," he said of his trip to Lexington. "They have nice facilities out there and great coaches. I didn't get to watch them work out or anything, but just talking to the coaches, it was a great experience."

Mickey also said he enjoyed his trip to West Virginia.

"It's beautiful out there with the mountains and everything," he said. "They have great coaches and great kids."

Mickey, who pointed out that distance wouldn't factor into his decision making, informed Scout.com that he doesn't have a leader at this time.
