One School Tops Gaynor's List

Darry Gaynor, an athletic combo guard out of Las Vegas, gives us an update on his recruitment...

Darryl Gaynor, 6-1 JR PG/SG Las Vegas (Nev.) Palo Verde, is a very good athlete and terrific competitor. While not a true one, Gaynor has a chance to play either guard spot at the next level. I spoke with Gaynor recently and asked about the schools that have been recruiting him to date.

"I've been hearing from Utah, Marquette, Arizona, Colorado and Oklahoma," said Gaynor.

When asked if any school stands out for him, Gaynor said, "I like Marquette. I like how they play defense. They defend full court and I like that. And they have a run and gun offense."

I asked Gaynor what he is looking for in a school.

"I'd like my family to be able to see me," said Gaynor. "I want to go somewhere that has a great campus and someplace where I could see myself living after college."

Gaynor hasn't taken any unofficial visits yet, but did say he's been to Utah twice for camps.

I asked Gaynor if he has a time frame for making his decision.

"I want to decide as early as possible," said Gaynor. "I don't want to sign late."

Gaynor said he has a 3.0 GPA.
