Plenty Of Interest For Smith

Kendall Smith, one of the better point guards in the west for 2013, has three offers so far...

Kendall Smith, 6-1 SR PG Antioch (Calif.) Deer Valley, is a talented prospect with a good feel for the game and a nice skill set.

I spoke with Smith recently and he gave me a long list of schools that have been in touch with him.

"LSU, UConn, Arizona State, Washington State, USC, UNLV, San Diego State, UC Santa Barbara, Long Beach State, UOP and San Jose State," said Smith.

Smith said Long Beach St., UOP and San Jose St. have extended scholarship offers so far.

When asked if any schools stand out for him at the moment, Smith replied "Arizona State, Cal, LSU and USC – I'm high on them," said Smith.

Smith talked a little about the issues he will be looking at when picking a school.

"A nice campus, the facilities, a winning program, good staff and good education," said Smith.

Smith has been to Cal and USC on unofficial visits. He talked a little about the visit to USC.

"They have a great facility," said Smith. "I really liked it there, it was really nice."

I asked Smith if he has a time frame in mind for making his decision.

"After the AAU season, but before my high school season starts," said Smith.

Smith said he has a 3.0 GPA.
