Robinson Recruitment Heats Up

DeAndre Robinson was a definite sleeper coming into the summer, but he's improved dramatically since the spring and he'll no doubt hear from more schools after the initial evaluation period...

DeAndre Robinson, 6-5 SR SG Riverside (Calif.) King, looked like a decent prospect in the spring leagues a few months ago. Since then, he's developed a much more consistent jump shot, his handle is improved and his confidence is soaring. As a result, he's developed into a legitimate high major prospect and he should draw a lot of interest this summer.

We spoke with Robinson yesterday and asked about the schools that have been recruiting him to date. "I'm hearing from Yale, Cornell, Penn, Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, Santa Clara and Sacramento St.," said Robinson.

When we asked him which schools had been callling during the recent contact period, Robinson said, "Yale, Cornell, Columbia and Santa Clara."

Robinson told us he'd like to play at the highest level possible. "I'd like to play in the Pac-10 if I can," said Robinson.

We asked if there are any schools he'd like to be hearing from and Robinson replied, "UCLA, USC, Arizona and Oregon."

Robinson told us he has a 4.1 GPA and scored 980 on the SAT. "I didn't really prepare for the SAT -- I'm going to take it again," said Robinson.
