Parker commits to Georgia

Juwan Parker's decision is in. He'll play his college basketball in the SEC for Mark Fox at Georgia.

Juwan Parker is headed to Georgia.

After considering interest from a host of schools, including Stanford and Memphis, Parker committed to the Bulldogs Sunday morning.

In the end it was prior relationships that helped Parker, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington, pick Mark Fox's squad.

"I had a great relationship with coach [Kwanza] Johnson," Parker told "He coached my older brother at Tulsa University, as well as Coach Fox he recruited my brother for Kansas State and they've stayed in contact. Plus being a southern boy Georgia and the campus felt like home."

When Parker, a three-star wing prospect, took his visit he felt comfortable with his surroundings.

"It just stuck out as a whole," Parker said. "[They have a] beautiful campus and facilities. I felt right at home."

"I think I'll fit in real well," he added. "The triangle focuses on a lot of mid-range scoring which I do well, as well as defense."

Parker is Georgia's second verbal pledge in the 2013 recruiting class. Parker joins Georgia native J.J. Frazier to make up their current class.
