Kendall Smith, 6-2 SR PG Antioch (Calif.) Deer Valley, is one of the top point guards in the west for 2013. He's got good size for the position, solid ball skills and a nice feel for the game.

I spoke with Smith recently and asked about the schools that he has been hearing from since the end of July.

"LSU just called," said Smith. "I've been hearing from Long Beach State, Arizona State, Arizona called my coach the other day, Colorado, Pacific and San Jose State."

I asked Smith which schools have extended scholarship offers.

"Long Beach State, UOP and San Jose State," said Smith.

Smith said he's been lining up official visits.

"I'm going to Long Beach State and San Jose State sometime next month," said Smith. "And I go to LSU for an official on October 9th."

Smith said he's already been on an unofficial visit to LSU. I asked him for his impressions.

"I really liked it," said Smith. "They have an amazing football stadium and the facilities are really nice. The practice gym is really nice."

I asked Smith if he sees himself signing in the fall.

"If it's the right fit for me, I could see myself giving a verbal," said Smith. "I'm not sure yet about signing in the fall."
