Life After De-Committing

He verbally committed to USC last fall, but then in the spring, he and USC went their separate ways. Now the shooting guard from California, Curtis Allen, has seen some high major schools pick up the slack in his recruitment...

Curtis Allen, 6-4 SR SG, Palos Verdes Peninsula (Calif.) Rolling Hills Prep, was committed to USC before the Trojans and Allen decided to go their separate ways in spring.

There hasn't been any slack in Allen's recruitment, though, with many schools jumping right into that void.

"Oregon State, Washington, Oklahoma State, DePaul, Oregon and California are the schools that are recruiting me the most," Allen said, "and my favorites."

Allen said that Oregon State, Washington and Oklahoma State have offered scholarships.

As of right now, Allen said he didn't have a leader for his services, but did say that Washington and Oklahoma State were recruiting him the hardest. And when asked what schools he wanted to visit officially, Allen said, "I'm not sure about all of them, but definitely Washington and Oklahoma State."

Allen wants to take his time now, and make the right decision. "I definitely want to wait. I don't think I'd have any problem with going away from home, but I want to check that out. So, I'd like to take all of my trips and see all the schools."

He said he has a 2.8 GPA and hasn't received the results back from his most recent SAT.
