Hernandez Focusing List

From Mexico, forward Hector Hernandez plays his high school ball in Colorado, and his move to the States has paid off with interest from college programs in the Big 12, Mountain West and WAC...

Hector Hernandez, 6-8 SR PF/SF, Denver (Col.) Lincoln, came to the U.S. from Mexico to play basketball and go to an American college.

It looks like it's going to happen.

Hernandez, who has great perimeter skills, said he's hearing from Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico and San Diego State.

He said that most of those schools came to see him during the spring contact/evaluation period, and were recruiting him right up until the July evaluation period. "But since the beginning of July I haven't been home, so I don't know if anything's changed."

If he had to take official visits right now, Hernandez said he'd visit Fresno State, San Diego State, New Mexico and Oklahoma. In August, he plans to sit down with his coach and plan out his official visits.

Hernandez, who said academics were a priority in picking a school, has maintained a 3.0 GPA since coming to the U.S. before his sophomore year (Getting his transcripts from Mexico has proven to be a litle difficult for some college programs this spring). He also said that he took the SAT in June but hadn't received his score.
