On Campus Report

There aren't a ton of visitors to report on this coming weekend, but there is certainly an important on in Julius Randle. He'll be at Kentucky. Who else is heading to the road? Scout has the scoop.

Randle headed to Lexington

The most significant visitor of the weekend is top five recruit Julius Randle.

Randle, who is down to 10 schools, will start his official visit at Kentucky on Friday. The five-star prospect will be in Lexington for their alumni basketball game, which is being coached by Drake and John Wall, as well as their home football game against WKU.

Why is the visit important?

To start, anytime a top five recruit makes an official visit, it's a big deal. But on top of that many believe that Kentucky is either the frontrunner to land Randle or right in the mix.

Kentucky met with Randle and his family on Sunday for an in-home visit and this is their chance to pamper him on an official visit with a number of their former players in town.

This is Randle's first official visit and the only other trip he has scheduled is to Florida on October 6th. Randle did swing by Texas, who appears to be making a late push, unofficially last weekend.

The Wildcats will also host 2013 commit Derek Willis and 2014 five-star guard Jaquan Lyle.

Miami to have big weekend

Last weekend the Hurricanes hosted top 100 prospect Kameron Williams.

This weekend the Miami staff will cater to Davon Reed, JaJuan Johnson and Austin Colbert. All three are in on official visits and hold scholarship offers from the Hurricanes.

Miami seems to have made some serious headway with Johnson, who is also strongly considering Texas and Alabama. This visit could play a major role in Johnson's final decision. He's a highly rated four-star prospect.

Reed and Colbert play on the same AAU team – Team Final.

Tennessee to host elite recruits

Anytime you can get prospects on campus it's a good sign. Throw in a big football game against Florida and it's a bigger deal.

Lindsey to see Tennessee

Robert Hubbs is Tennessee's headliner. Hubbs, one of the top scorers in the country, is the No. 19 recruit in the 2013 class and is classified as a five-star recruit. An intriguing aspect to the Hubbs recruitment is his AAU teammate Austin Nichols is also strongly considering Tennessee.

Cuonzo Martin and company will also host Johnathan Williams, Jalen Lindsey, Daniel Giddens, Jaylen Brown, Justin Johnson and Joshua Langford for unofficial visits this weekend.

The Volunteers appear to focusing on underclassmen in the South. Lindsay is an in-state 2014 recruit that they have targeted, while Giddens (2015) Brown (2015) and Langford (2016) are highly regarded youngsters that are already reeling in high major scholarship offers.
