Hubbs commits to Tennessee

Robert Hubbs didn't need much time after his trip to Tennessee to make his college choice. He plans to play in the SEC.

Robert Hubbs took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend.

By Monday morning, Hubbs, a 6-foot-4 wing prospect out of Newbern (Tenn.) Dyer County, was ready to offer up a pledge to Cuonzo Martin and his staff at Tennessee.

"That's where he wants to play at," Robert Hubbs Sr. told Scout.com just minutes after the commitment.

This is a significant pick up for Tennessee. Hubbs is regarded as a five-star recruit and is currently ranked No. 19 overall in the 2013 class. A very good athlete, Hubbs is known for his ability to put up points from both mid-range out to the three-point stripe.

Hubbs is the second commitment in the 2013 class for Tennessee. He joins Madison (Ala.) Bob Jones guard Travon Landry to make up their current class.

Tennessee is also recruiting Hubbs' AAU teammate Austin Nichols. A four-star recruit out of Memphis, Nichols is considering five other schools -- Duke, Virginia, Auburn, Vanderbilt and Memphis.
