Chris Ayer Has Options

Chris Ayer, 6-10 center Phoenix (Ariz.) Flowing Wells, is a solid post player and he has a number of mid to high major schools interested in him. We talked with him at the Best of Summer about his recruitment.

Chris Ayer, 6-10 C Tucson (Ariz.) Flowing Wells, is one of the top post players in the west this year and he's helped himself with a good summer so far.

We spoke with him yesterday at the Best of Summer and asked about the schools he's considering. "I like St. Louis and USC a lot," Chris said. "I'm also hearing from Loyola Marymount, Northern Arizona, UTEP and Oregon St."

Chris also said that he hasn't been home in a while, so he's not sure which schools have been calling lately.

We asked if he had a childhood favorite and Chris replied, "Michigan. Both my parents are from Ann Arbor and I grew up watching Michigan football games."

When questioned about his feelings on leaving home, Chris said, "I want to go out of state." He did say, though, that he might prefer the West Coast to going across the country.

Chris also told us that he wouldn't mind waiting for playing time. "I'd be ok with redshirting," Chris said. "I've just started lifting recently and added some muscle. A whole year of lifting might really help me."
