Five-star G Selden goes with Jayhawks

Kansas picked up a five-star recruit on Monday as Wayne Selden gave Bill Self and the Jayhawks the word.

Kansas scored in a big way on Monday.

Wayne Selden, Scout.com's No. 13 overall prospect, gave Bill Self and his staff the official word just a day after returning home from his visit to Lawrence.

Selden confirmed the news to Scout.com.

"It was the right fit for me as a player and a person, and me and my family knew it was a great place," Selden told Scout.com.

Prior to committing to Kansas, Selden had narrowed his list of schools to Florida, Missouri, Ohio State, Syracuse and UCLA.

"Kansas was my recent favorite, and when I went on the visit it sold it to me that this was the place I wanted to be a student at," Selden said.

A five-star talent, Selden is a skilled guard that can play a handful of positions on the perimeter. Selden is a terrific passer, has developed into an impressive scorer from all three levels and is a very good all-around athlete.

Kansas now has four pledges in the 2013 class. Selden joins four-star recruits Conner Frankamp and Brannen Greene, as well as three-star guard Frank Mason.
