Four-star Peters picks Maryland

The pick is in for Roddy Peters and he will stay close to home.

It was a tough recruiting battle for Forestville (Md.) Suitland star guard Roddy Peters, but the decision is now in -- he has committed to Maryland.

After blowing up this summer running with DC Assault, Peters jumped up to four-star status and pulled in numerous offers. On Monday night that decision became final.

Growing up, Peters looked at Maryland as a bit of a dream school, and now he will be living the dream in college.

Peters selected Maryland over offers from Rutgers, Xavier, Kansas, UCLA, and a host of other schools. For Peters it was a tough decision, but he knew it was the right one.

The choice became official on Tuesday morning when he informed all the coaches involved of his decision, and it was a huge relief for Maryland, which greatly needed an impact local kid like Peters.

This is the second commitment for Maryland in the 2013 class. He joins another four-star local pledge in Damonte Dodd.
