Castro on verge of decision

Three-star guard Rene Castro should have a decision very soon between four schools.

Guard Rene Castro out of Chestnut Hill (Mass.) Beaver Country Day is on the verge of making his college decision. The 6-foot-3 guard was excellent for BABC over the past few years, and now four schools are in the mix for his commitment.

In his recruitment things are moving quickly and Castro just completed his visit tour.

"Things are going well," said Castro. "I just took my final visit which was to Butler, and I have made official visits there, to Duquesne, and George Washington. Also Boston U is local so I have seen them. I am going to make a decision soon."

The visit to Butler was a good one for Castro who got to see the Indianapolis campus for the first time.

"I really just like the coaching staff," said Castro. "They ran good sets during practice and the campus was nice. Also I liked the city of Indianapolis."

When asked how soon the decision will come, Castro made it clear.

"I am definitely trying to make a decision real, real soon," said Castro. "It should be coming up."

In terms of what will put one school over the top from the others, Castro said, "For me everything is important. Mostly I am looking at how I get along with the coaches and how we would work together when I get to that school. Also I looked at the academics and how everything is with the actual college."
