Randolph Still Open

Brandon Randolph, an explosive guard from Southern California, has an offer in hand but is unsure about the timing of his decision...

Brandon Randolph, 6-1 SR PG/SG Inglewood (Calif.) High, is a terrific athlete with good ball skills. While not a true point guard, Randolph definitely has the ability to defend the one and he's got a chance to play either guard spot at the next level.

I spoke with Randolph recently and he gave me an update on his recruitment.

"I'm hearing from Wyoming, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Providence and San Jose State," said Randolph. "Wyoming has offered."

Randolph took a visit to Wyoming in early October and he talked about the visit.

"It went really good," said Randolph. "It would be a big adjustment to go there, but I really liked it better than I expected I would. I like the coaching staff and players; they all seem like hard workers. I liked the staff as coaches and as people."

Randolph said he's hoping to take five visits before reaching a decision.

"I'd like to take five visits, but I'm really day to day," said Randolph. "Whichever school jumps at me the most is where I will go."

Randolph said he has received varying degrees of interest from the other schools.

"Providence came to see me practice, but I haven't talked a lot with them lately," said Randolph. "I've been talking with Virginia Tech about a visit, but we haven't set a date yet. Arizona State is supposed to come out to see me this week."
