Clemson Lands Raleigh Guard

The commitment train is back on track. On Friday, Clemson received word that Raleigh (NC) Leesville Road PG Shawan Robinson was joining forces with the Tigers. Robinson just finished a summer tour with Raleigh Heat.

Robinson Picks Tigers

Shawan Robinson, the point guard for state runner-up Raleigh (NC) Leesville Road, announced his decision on Friday. Robinson will stay close to home and play in the ACC. He's less than five hours from Clemson's campus. Robinson has great genes. His father had a storied career at Appalachian State.

"I guess the big thing was the ACC," Darryl Robinson, Shawan's father and coach said. "I just think Shawan growing up around here in the ACC and having his friends and family being able to see him, that was a factor. Clemson really wanted him. The did a great job."

In the end, Robinson considered Stanford, Xavier, Minnesota and Richmond. "We're happy he can go ahead and move forward."

The Lighter Side of Shawan

Toughest Player To Guard: Raymond Felton because he shoots so much. He's going to shoot and that's what makes him hard to guard. They're going to get it too him and he's going to try and make something happen every time.

Greatest High School Moment: Broughton vs. Leesville at Reynolds Coliseum with 12,000 people.

Arena He'd Like To Play In While With Clemson: The Pit in New Mexico.

Favorite Cereal: Captain Crunch; the peanut butter flavor.

Favorite Movie: Rush Hour. I like Chris Tucker.

Favorite Las Vegas Hotel: The Luxor. It's high class and low key.
