Two events tip off in D.C. this weekend

The Gonzaga D.C. Classic and the National High School Hoops Festival tip off this weekend.

The Washington D.C. area is the place to be for high school hoops this weekend.

The Gonzaga D.C. Classic tips off Friday night at Gonzaga High School. The event includes Bullis School, Archbishop Carroll, Germantown Academy, Archbishop Molloy, Mount St. Joseph, Roman Catholic, Sidwell Friends and the host Gonzaga.

Among the top prospects participating are Kameron Williams, Phil Booth, Kris Jenkins, Bryant Crawford, Josh Hart, Shep Garner, Andre Walker and Julian Moore.

*5:00 – Gonzaga vs Archbishop Molloy
*6:45 – Bullis vs Roman Catholic
*8:30 – Carroll vs Mount St. Joseph will have coverage of the event on Friday. Games on Saturday will take place at Gonzaga, while Sunday's action will by at the Charles E. Smith Center on George Washington's campus.

Keith Stevens' event at DeMatha Catholic begins on Saturday.

The National High School Hoops Festival has a star-studded field that includes Huntington Prep, Oak Hill, DeMatha and Paul VI.

The top prospects participating include Andrew Wiggins, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Moses Kingsley, Dion Wiley, BeeJay Anya, Kennedy Meeks, Nate Britt, Troy Williams, Marcus Derrickson, Sindarius Thornwell, Aquille Carr and a host of others.
