Attention continues to come for Wiley

Four-star shooting guard Dion Wiley is in the middle of an impressive season and the recruiting attention keeps coming in.

One of the best pure scorers in the class of 2014 is Oxon Hill (Md.) Potomac wing Dion Wiley. The 6-foot-4 scorer is having an excellent junior season and continues to hear from numerous high-major programs.

"The season is going good," said Wiley. "I think I am playing pretty well. I am averaging about 18 points per game."

While scoring has always been his thing, Wiley says his focus this year has been on being a complete player on both ends of the floor.

"I have been working on my defense," said Wiley. "That is definitely the area I have gotten better at this year."

Recruiting wise Wiley says numerous schools remain in the mix for his services.

"Cincinnati, Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers are my offers," said Wiley. "I am also hearing from Villanova and Miami as well."

When it comes to the Wolfpack of NC State, they have had some success recruiting the Washington D.C. area, and Wiley likes what they bring to the table.

"I like their style of play," he said of NC State. "The coaches are real good and they tell me how good they think I can be in their system."

While most of the schools recruiting Wiley are in the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Cincinnati Bearcats are making him a priority at the moment.

"They have been talking about how they want to me come in right away and play," Wiley said of the Bearcats. "Also they tell me that they think I could be good in their system."

For now Wiley has no timeframe for a decision, but he does have a good idea of what will be important to him when it is time to make his commitment.

"I want to go to a place where I can play as a freshman and where I can excel academically as well as on the court," explained Wiley.

Currently Wiley is ranked as the No. 9 shooting guard in the country and the No. 43 prospect overall.
