Chris Sandifer, 6-4 JR SG Gardena (Calif.) Serra, one of the elite prospects in the west for 2014. A lefty with a terrific stroke, and deep range, Sandifer has as high an upside as any shooting guard in the West Coast class.

I spoke with Sandifer recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been recruiting him.

"UCLA, Arkansas, Marquette, Arizona, Utah and Colorado have been the main ones," said Sandifer. "Colorado has offered."

I asked Sandifer if any school stands out for him at this time.

"No, I don't have a leader, I'm pretty much wide open," said Sandifer. "I like UCLA, but nobody really stands out."

I asked Sandifer if he has a feel for which schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"Colorado and UCLA," said Sandifer.

Sandifer talked a little about the factors that will influence his decision.

"The location, but not much East Coast or West Coast," said Sandifer. "I'm going to be looking at the city the school is in and what the environment is like. The coaching staff is important and the style of play. I'd like to play in an up and down system, but also someplace where the coach lets you play through mistakes."

Sandifer isn't sure about when he will make his choice.

"Hopefully sometime after the AAU season," said Sandifer.
