Despite a loss to Michigan, Illinois put their best foot forward on a visit. Lyle got to meet Head Coach John Groce and that made an impression.
"It was a good visit," said Lyle. "I got to really meet with and talk to Coach Groce before the game. He told me how I would fit in and how I fit what they do. They like to push the ball and get the ball up and down the court which is what I like to do. Overall it was a good visit."
He continued about the Illini, "They use a lot of pick and roll and a lot of freedom with their guards and that is perfect for me. The way they push the ball is what I like to do. If a set has to be called you call it, but there is a lot of freedom in the offense and that just fits me well."
While that was his first visit of the year to Illinois, Lyle has been to Indiana several times. As always the Hoosiers put on a good show for Lyle.
"Assembly Hall is always going to be crazy," Lyle explained. "Coach (Tom) Crean has a great team and he has really turned their program around. IU is real good and they are high on my list."
At the moment no other trips are planned, but one high profile head coach is planning to make a trip to Evansville soon.
"I don't have any other visits set up," said Lyle. "I know Coach (Billy) Donovan is supposed to come here soon, but I don't have any other visits set right now."
In fact the Florida Gators have really picked up the interest in Lyle recently and are making an impression on him.
"Florida got on me a little while ago," said Lyle. "After we talked one time they started recruiting me real hard. Me and their assistant coach, Coach (Rashon) Burno, have a real good relationship. I like Florida a lot and they seem to like me to."
While Lyle is making visits, he is no hurry to make any kind of decision. Lyle currently has no timeline for a commitment, but a decision isn't imminent.
