Stephen Zimmerman Update

Stephen Zimmerman, one of the top sophomores in the country, has a host of high majors from across the country recruiting him...

Stephen Zimmerman, 6-10 SO C Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman, is one of the elite prospects in the country for 2015. A lefty with very long arms, Zimmerman moves extremely well for a young post. He's very fluid, with very good feet and body control, and he also possesses a high skill level. He's comfortable playing in the low post, but also has the ability to face up out to 15 feet or so. He's still very young, and needs to add strength, but projects to have a very high upside.

I spoke with Zimmerman recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"UNLV, UCLA, Kansas, UConn, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Michigan and Michigan State have been the main ones," said Zimmerman.

I asked Zimmerman if any school stands out for him at this time.

"No, not really," said Zimmerman. "I'm pretty much wide open. My parents want me to watch more college games and get a feel for the different programs. The location doesn't matter; I'm just looking for the right place for me."

When asked if his parents have any school preference, Zimmerman said, "No, they don't have a preference."

Zimmerman has taken unofficial visits to Arizona, UCLA and UNLV. I asked if he has any other schools in mind for unofficial visits.

"No, I've got school now and won't be going on any more visits for a while," said Zimmerman.

Zimmerman said he's in no hurry to reach a decision.

"I want to wait until my senior year and make sure it's the right decision," said Zimmerman.

Zimmerman said he has a 3.0 GPA.
