Campbell continues to add interest

Tre Campbell is having a huge junior year, and his offer list is continuing to grow.

Point guard Tre Campbell is in the middle of a big time junior year at Washington (DC) St. John's. The 6-foot-2 playmaker recently was upgraded to four-star status, and college interest continues to pick up.

"The season has been going pretty well," said Campbell. "We had a tough loss the other day, but I have been playing pretty well."

One thing that is interesting about Campbell is during the summer with Team Takeover he is a pass first point guard while at St. John's he is in more of a scoring role.

"In the summer time I have more people around me who are shooters and big guys," said Campbell. "At St. John's I also have good players around me, but I know my role is to be a scorer so that is what I do."

That ability to play multiple roles on a team has Campbell a hot commodity on the recruiting trail and he continues to pick up offers.

"I have offers from VCU, St. Joe's, Penn State, Old Dominion, George Washington, and Massachusetts," said Campbell. "Also I have interest from Miami, Georgetown, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh."

The Big Ten is the top league in the country this year, and Campbell says having an offer from one of their members, Penn State, is an honor.

"That is real good to have a Big Ten offer because that is probably the best league," noted Campbell of PSU. "I know this year they have been kind of down losing their starting point guard, but to have an offer from them is good."

For now Campbell is in no hurry to make a decision, but he does know what he will be looking for in a school when that time comes.

"Definitely I look at the relationship the coaches have with the players on and off the court, is it somewhere my family can see me, academics, and also is it somewhere that I can fit in," Campbell explained.

Currently Campbell is the No. 20 ranked point guard in the 2014 class and the No. 88 prospect overall.
