The 2015 four-star prospect, Tyler Dorsey, from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, has spent time over the last year playing both shooting guard and point guard, but he seems pretty convinced that his future lies at the one.
"I need to keep working on my point guard skills, because that's where I see myself at the next level," Dorsey said. "I just need to work on going and getting the ball, my vision, and things like that. But I think it's going well."
At 6'4, 175, Dorsey has good size for a guard, especially for just a sophomore in high school. As it stands, schools are starting to pick up their recruitment of Dorsey, with the four-star prospect holding offers from several programs.
"I've got offers from Arizona, USC< Oregon State, Louisville, Florida and Connecticut," Dorsey said. "But right now, I'm just keeping my options open. No one's really standing out yet."
Dorsey said that UCLA is also starting to pick up its recruitment of him, with the Bruins' coaches watching his team play during the Nike Extravaganza two weekends ago. He visited Pauley Pavilion at the beginning of the year for the opening of New Pauley and liked the facility.
As for unofficial visits the rest of the way, Dorsey said that he'll likely take visits in accordance with the travel schedule of his AAU team, Belmont Shores, but he hasn't thought that far ahead at this point.
He said that he doesn't expect to make a decision on where he'll attend college until his senior year, so it figures to be a long recruitment for Dorsey.
