During a meeting with Mike Krzyzewski late Saturday night, Booker picked up a scholarship offer from the Blue Devils.
"Saturday night after the Carolina game I went and met with the coaches from Duke," Booker said." That's actually when coach K offered first. They showed me a little film of two guards from Duke and how they think I fit in the system."
What was his reaction to the offer?
"Words can't describe," Booker said. "It was a dream come true. It's something I've worked hard for. Me and my dad have spent hours and hours in the gym and now that it's paying it feels good."
On Sunday, Booker received a tour of the facilities and he met with Krzyzewski again.
"The next day we went to the gym and they showed me around the facilities," Booker said. "Then I just enjoyed the game. The Cameron Crazies chanted my name a little bit. After the game I met with Coach K. I sat down with coach K for 45 minutes and I enjoyed that."
How was the meeting with Krzyzewski?
"It's crazy," Booker explained. "He's a coach I've been watching on TV all my life. Now he's watching me play. It's dream come true."
"Coach K made Duke feel like family at the game," he added. "He had all his family at the game. They come up to me and the little kids would come up and they knew my name. It just kind of felt like family."
Booker said Duke's tradition and the family atmosphere were two of the things that stood out during his visit.
"Duke's tradition and the family at Duke," he said when asked what he liked most about the unofficial visit. "Their players and being around them just seem like family. They don't knock each other down, they are just going after one goal."
