Carr In No Hurry

Shaquile Carr, a talented junior point guard from Las Vegas, gives us the latest on his recruitment...

Shaquile Carr, 6-1 JR PG Las Vegas (Nev.) Canyon Springs, tells us that he's hearing primarily from five schools at the moment.

"Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Houston and UNLV," said Carr.

Carr said UNLV has extended a scholarship offer.

When asked about the issues that will play a role in his decision, Carr replied, "I want to play in an up-tempo system where they run the offense through the point guard. The location isn't a big deal, but my Mom would kind of like for me to get out of town."

I asked Carr if he has a feel for which schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"Oklahoma and Colorado are recruiting me the hardest," said Carr.

Carr has yet to take any visits and said it may be awhile before he sees any colleges.

"I think I will wait until after the summer to take any trips," said Carr.

When asked if he has a time frame for picking a school, Carr replied, "No, I'm just taking my time right now."

Carr said he has a 2.5 GPA.
