Latest On Dorsey

Tyler Dorsey, one of the elite sophomores in the west for 2015, gives us his latest thoughts...

Tyler Dorsey, 6-4 SO SG Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, is one of the elite wings in the west for 2015. Dorsey is playing out of position at PG for his high school team, but he's a terrific scorer with good size and athleticism for the two guard spot. With continued development he figures to be among the more highly recruited prospects in the West Coast class.

I spoke with Dorsey recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"Louisville, Florida, USC, Oregon State, UConn and Arizona have offered," said Dorsey.

When asked if any school stands out for him, Dorsey replied "Right now I don't think anyone stands out. I'm going to narrow it down after the summer."

Dorsey talked a little about the factors he's looking at in choosing a school.

"The coach and how he coaches," said Dorsey. "Style of play is important. I want to play in an up tempo system. The location isn't a factor. Early playing time is important; I'd like to play right away."

I asked Dorsey if he has a sense for which school is recruiting him the hardest.

"No, they're all recruiting me pretty hard," said Dorsey.

Dorsey went to visit Stanford and Cal last year. I asked if he has any more trips planned.

"I don't have any planned, but if I'm near a school when I'm out during travel ball then I could stop by and visit," said Dorsey.

When asked if he has a time frame for choosing a school, Dorsey replied, "No, I'm not sure when I'll decide."

Dorsey said he has a 3.5 GPA.
