Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei forward Stanley Johnson had an impressive game Friday night against El Camino Real, scoring 23 points to go along with ten rebounds. Johnson showed off some range on his jumper, hitting three three-pointers, while also showing some tenacity on defense.
After the game, he talked about his recruitment, saying that he plans to cut down his list after the season, and he already knows two schools that will make the cut.
"As soon as my season is over, I'm planning on cutting down my list to five or seven schools," Johnson said. "I know right now that UCLA and USC will both make the list, since they've been on me the longest, and have recruited me since my freshman year."
Johnson's decision time is ultimately still up in the air, but after the trim he's hoping to take some more visits, although he's not sure where yet.
"I'd love to decide by the start of my senior season, but I don't see it happening," Johnson said. "Even after trimming my list, it's still going to be a lot of schools to look at."
The 6'5, 190 pound forward is also hearing from Arizona, Kentucky, North Carolina State, and Louisville, among others.
