Edwards talks Michigan visit

Hyron Edwards has made several unofficial visits this year, the most recent one to the University of Michigan.

East Chicago (Ind.) Central point guard Hyron Edwards is one of the most explosive point guards in the class of 2015. At 5-foot-11, Edwards is a quick as anyone baseline-to-baseline in the country, and has reeled in some big time offers because of it.

It was a solid high school season for Edwards, who had a lot of responsibility to lead his team. The season ended a little sooner than he would have liked, but Edwards is using his free time before the AAU circuit to make some unofficial visits, the most one being to Michigan.

Edwards made the trip to Ann Arbor to watch the Wolverines take on the Indiana Hoosiers for a game that determined the Big Ten regular season title. While the home team lost, Edwards said it was a great atmosphere to be in.

"Man the atmosphere was just great," said Edwards. "The trip really helped me get closer to the entire coaching staff. It was a great visit."

The Wolverines haven't yet offered Edwards a scholarship, though one is expected to come on June 15 when Michigan offers class of 2015 prospects. While Michigan hasn't yet offered, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois, and others already have.

For Edwards he said the lasting impression that he got from the visit was the support that Michigan receives.

"The facilities were good, but I was just amazed with how the fan base and everything was," noted Edwards.

For now Edwards has no intention to make any kind of early commitment and intends to gain more information on all of his options before even thinking about making a decision.

Edwards is seen as a three-star prospect and the No. 8 point guard in the nation in the class of 2015.
