Grunfeld Has The Offers He's Looking For
Friends of Hoop Black was lucky to have SG Dan Grunfeld this summer. The 6-4 Grunfeld was the No. 10 leading scorer at the Big Time (27 ppg.) and scored 45 in one contest, which proved to be the single-game scoring record for the 2001 tournament.
As a result of some fine performances, he has the scholarship offers that he's looking for. Right now, offers are on the table from Wisconsin, Tennessee, Northwestern, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Princeton and Penn. Stanford continues to be a viable option as Grunfeld is going through the rigors of the application process.
"In order [to receive an offer from Stanford] you have to be accepted into school. That's what I'm doing right now," Grunfeld said. "It's not set in stone.
"My coach talked to their coach and if I get accepted that the offer is pretty much on the table. I don't know if that's really the case or not."
Grunfeld, the son of an NBA general manager, knows a little about the recruiting process and has an idea what it's going to take for him to make a decision.
"I think it's just where I'll feel comfortable. I don't think I'll come in right away and be the main guy. I just want to be happy where I am."
