Julius Randle announced his college choice on Wednesday. He's headed to Kentucky.

Julius Randle is headed to Kentucky.

Scout.com's No. 5 prospect in the 2013 class pledged to John Calipari and the Wildcats Wednesday afternoon on national television.

Randle also considered Kansas, Florida and Texas.

Randle, a 6-foot-9 power forward out of Plano (Tex.) Prestonwood Christian Academy, is the top rated power forward in the 2013 class.

Randle is known for his aggressive nature on the court and is arguably the top rebounder in the class. He has an unique scoring ability. He's effective offensively both facing the rim and playing with his back to it.

With the addition of Randle, Kentucky now has commitments from six five-star prospects. Randle joins top 20 recruits Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison, James Young, Marcus Lee and Dakari Johnson.

Derek Willis, a three-star prospect, is also a part of Kentucky's 2013 recruiting class.
