Wilson Picking Up Offers

D.J. Wilson, a promising junior forward from Sacramento (Calif.), has several offers but he's in no hurry to reach a decision...

D.J. Wilson, 6-8 JR SF Sacramento (Calif.) Capital Christian, has a wide variety of schools recruiting him at this time.

"I'm hearing from some Ivy schools, Harvard and Princeton, as well as some Pac-12 schools like USC, Washington, Washington State, Colorado, Cal and Arizona," said Wilson. "I'm also hearing from Gonzaga, Nevada, Boise State and some others."

I asked Wilson which schools have offered to date.

"USC, Boise State, Colorado, Nevada and Cal have offered," said Wilson.

When asked if any school stands out for him at this time, Wilson replied, "No, there is no leader, I'm keeping it open."

Wilson said he has yet to take any unofficial visits.

"I went with my AAU team to UNLV, but that's it so far," said Wilson. "I'll probably set some up in the summer. USC, Washington State and Gonzaga have been talking to me about visiting."

I asked Wilson about the factors that will be important to him when he chooses a school.

"The number one thing will be education," said Wilson. "The basketball falls after that. The playing style, the coach, the other players they are recruiting and what the roster looks like will also be factors."

Wilson said he has a 4.0 GPA.
